Zoltan Bathory looks back on the moments that shaped Five Finger Death Punch’s history.
Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Zoltan Bathory has reflected on the band’s 20-year journey, discussing the moments that shaped FFDP’s history, the support surrounding vocalist Ivan Moody during a difficult period and what lies ahead for the band.
In a new interview with MusicRadar, Bathory looks back on two decades of Five Finger Death Punch, from the band’s formation in 2005 to the worldwide following they have built over the years.
Reflecting on the band’s growth and the support of millions of fans around the world, Bathory said:
“I’m so proud of the history of this band. 20 years of getting bigger and bigger, with millions of fans all over the world. And what’s crazy is it’s still getting bigger. We’re not done.”
During the interview, Zoltan also opened up about one of the more challenging chapters in Five Finger Death Punch’s history involving Ivan Moody and the support he received from those around him.
While touring with Linkin Park, he recalled how Chester Bennington reached out to Moody and encouraged him to seek help, drawing from his own experiences. Bathory described Bennington’s support as a significant moment, remembering the message the Linkin Park vocalist shared with Moody: “Bro, you’re going to rehab right now. You can do it. I did it. You can do it.”
Looking ahead to the next chapter
The interview comes as Five Finger Death Punch celebrate 20 years as a band and prepare for the next stage of their career with new music on the way.
After two decades of albums, tours and milestones, Knuckleheads across the globe will rejoin that Zoltan Bathory believes there is still more to come.
