The video featuring Ivan Moody’s raw vocals comes after the Five Finger Death Punch frontman initially teased it with a lip sync duet video on TikTok some weeks back.
In a clip originally posted on Ivan Moody’s official Tik Tok page (and later reposted by Papa Roach themselves on Instagram and Facebook), Moody duets with Jacoby Shaddix adding his own spin on a segment of ‘Leave A Light On’.
In the comments Moody wrote, “I raw dogged-it. Sorry Jacobi (sic). I’ll use my mic next time. Love this f$kn song @PapaRoach.”
The video, which has already racked up over a quarter of a million views, was well received, not only by fans but also by Papa Roach who responded to the video with, “Crushed it brother!”
The song, from Papa Roach’s 11th studio album ‘Ego Trip’ (2022) was released as a single and music video back in late 2023, with proceeds going to support American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
In an interview back in 2023 on Loudwire’s Nights, Papa Roach frontman, Jacoby Shaddix, explained that the band want the fans to find hope in ‘Leave A Light On’ stating, “I’m a firm believer that service to others is the highest calling and it’s a way that I’ve tried to live my life. Do I hit that mark all the time? No, I fall short … I wanted to make a really poignant message and get through to people. There is help out there for people that struggle. The message of this song is being there for somebody that you love, no matter what.”
We don’t know about you but we’d love to see a studio version of ‘Leave A Light On’ with Ivan and Jacoby.
