Five Finger Death Punch guitarist and founder, Zoltan Bathory has responded to a 5FDP fan who claimed covering ‘This Is War’ from the bands F8 album “killed his wrists”.
The comment came following the release of a teaser for a new video for This Is War posted on the bands Instagram page featuring the opening riff.
The video response posted on IGTV by Zoltan Bathory walks fans through the speedy sweep picking section of This Is War outlining the tuning fans need to use as well as the correct picking patterns required to execute the riff.
Commenting on the track and tricky main riff Bathory said, “The “Wrist Twister”. Ok. So here is a quick run-through of the verse riff of “This is War” some of you were asking about.”
“The tuning is B standard on a [six] string guitar. String gauges are .13 – .70 . Hope this helps. I didn’t plug in the guitar so you can *clearly* hear that this is not sped up (as some dingbat suggested) Wut in Z Fook. We don’t play that game.
