Take a look behind the scenes of ‘This Is The Way ft. DMX’

Five Finger Death Punch has released a behind the scenes video documenting their recent music video for ‘This Is The Way ft. DMX’ as part of Better Noise Music’s ‘Behind The Noise’ series.
In the video, 5FDP’s Ivan Moody and Zoltan Bathory share various insights about the track including how the song came together, the bands hip-hop influences, working with Hype Williams on the music video and more. The clip also features various behind the scenes footage captured on the set of the ‘This Is The Way’ music video.
Commenting on the bands influences on the track, Zoltan Bathory said, “This is a very special song. It took us a long time to get this done. This may be a not well-known thing that most of Five Finger Death Punch’s music was written on hip-hop beats. I don’t write music on rock beats. I like the swing of hip-hop. There’s a different feel.”
Frontman Ivan Moody also shared the story of how the collaboration came about stating, “When we were first approached about doing this song, for me, it was a no brainer. It’s something that X wanted to do as far as we’ve heard. He wanted to mix his music with metal and we were one of the names that he put a list of bands that he wanted to play with.”
“DMX caught my attention a long time ago and a lot of it had to stem from the fact that he was so direct with his delivery. He was a fellow addict which a lot of you may know, or may not. I just celebrated six years in recovery so it was something that I related to. He seemed to have that effect on everybody he came in contact with. Hype Williams, who’s doing our video right now, was a very, very close friend of his and was telling me some stories about it and some of them were so similar to myself it was almost spooky – even Hype said so.”
‘This Is The Way ft. DMX’ is taken from 5FDP’s ‘AfterLife: Deluxe’ album which is out now. Listen to ‘AfterLife: Deluxe’ now on the streaming service of your choice at https://5fdp.ffm.to/afterlifedelux
