Five Finger Death Punch founder and guitarist, Zoltan Bathory, has issued a friendly reminder to fans in light of the growing number of fake social media accounts posing as the band and band members.

In a post made on his official Instagram, and Facebook pages, Bathory wrote,” I guess I have to say this one more time guys. I’m not going to answer the DMs anymore about this question. Here is the answer out in the open publicly. NO – you are not talking to ANY OF us through any private or secret accounts. If you think you are – you are being cat-fished. Every band member has VERIFIED ACCOUNTS !!! (Be it Instagram, Twitter, FB, TikTok).”
“If you are talking to someone pretending to be any of us, saying things like “this is a secret private account – or a private chat account – or any similar BS – That account is 100% fake – NO EXCEPTIONS – none of us have unverified “private” accounts – none of us using secondary unverified accounts – so you are 100% talking to a scammer – report them – don’t give them your private info – and for fCk$ sake don’t give them money in any circumstances !!!”
“These scammers go as far as creating fake driver licenses (with our picture on it) to trick you into thinking it’s really us you are talking to – they collect family photos and videos to send you as proof… Again – you are 100% getting scammed – do not give into hope that it’s maybe real – no matter what the scammer says. The final and absolute truth is that if the account is not verified – it is a FAKE. Don’t be a victim of this – stay vigilant – report those scumbags.”
“And all the many 5FDP FanClubs – protect your members – kick out the fakers – repost this / educate / remind the fans … if it’s not officially verified – it is a fake account . No exceptions. So – Stick together / watch out for each other and take those scumbags down.”

FFDP UK encourages fans that encounter any suspect pages pretending to be the band to report the account in question via the usual block and report functions available on the social media platform that you are on. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. If in doubt look out for the blue verified check mark on the social media site you’re on.
