As 2026 unfolds, Five Finger Death Punch is gearing up for what could be one of the most monumental years in the band’s history. In a recent interview with Loudwire Nights, founding guitarist Zoltan Bathory opened up about the band’s work on their 10th studio album and plans for their highly‑anticipated 20th anniversary tour.
A decade of albums and two decades strong
Zoltan Bathory shared that the band is already deep in the creative process for their next album. With around 25–26 song ideas already developed, FFDP are now narrowing down the tracklist for what will become the band’s tenth full‑length release. Bathory revealed that Ivan Moody has already begun laying down vocals, and the group will soon head into the studio together to polish the final recordings.
“This is our 20th anniversary, which is pretty insane if you ask me, and it’s going to be the 10th record,” Bathory told Loudwire Nights. “There’s always something going on.”
How the band stays together
Reflecting on the band’s longevity, Zoltan talked about the importance of focusing on the music rather than getting bogged down in petty disputes. He noted that from the very beginning, the band was built with a clear sense of purpose – like a battleship designed to weather storms rather than succumb to them.
He explained that avoiding unnecessary arguments over small creative decisions helped the band stay united through years of touring, recording, and growth. “Now you listen to the song 10 years later and you can’t give two shits if this guitar solo is two bars too long… you kind of have to be an adult about it,” he said.
Setting the stage for a massive anniversary tour
Zoltan also touched on the band’s approach as they prepare for their 20th anniversary tour, sharing his ambition to create an immersive live experience that truly transports fans. He emphasised pushing the production envelope to craft a show that’s larger, more powerful, and more unforgettable than ever.
Earlier announcements confirm that the North American leg of the anniversary tour will kick off on Monday 20 July 2026, in Camden, New Jersey, and run through Friday 23 October 2026, wrapping in Bristow, Virginia, with support from Cody Jinks and Eva Under Fire.
Looking back at the journey
Zoltan Bathory didn’t just look ahead. He also shared how meaningful the band’s early songs remain to him. He spoke about writing material for the band’s first record and how personal some of those early riffs still feel two decades later. In addition, he spoke about how the bands line-up over the years has influenced the direction they have taken their music, hinting that the addition of Andy James has added a metal and European feel to new music.
