New lyric video alert. If you loved the single release of ‘De Oppresso Liber’, you’ll really love thea animated lyric video.

Five Finger Death Punch has unveiled the official lyric video for their brand-new track, “De Oppresso Liber”, giving fans another taste of what’s to come from the band’s upcoming tenth studio album, Legacy.
The animated lyric video arrives just weeks before Legacy is released digitally on Friday 31 July, with CD, vinyl and cassette editions following on Friday 18 September 2026.
Speaking about the song, guitarist Zoltan Bathory explained:
“‘De Oppresso Liber’ is more than just a motto. It’s a calling. It’s a philosophy. It represents a willingness to stand between danger and those who cannot defend themselves. Throughout human history, there have always been people who were drawn to accept that responsibility. This song is our way of paying respect to that mindset.”
The new album marks an important milestone as Five Finger Death Punch celebrate their 20th anniversary, with Bathory describing Legacy as both a reflection on the band’s journey and a look towards the future.
“Every album is a snapshot of who we were at that particular moment in time, and Legacy is exactly what the title suggests. It’s a reflection on the journey, the lessons, the victories, the struggles, and everything we’ve experienced over the last two decades.”
He continued: “What makes that journey meaningful is that we didn’t make it alone. We traveled this road alongside millions of fans around the world and somehow became part of each other’s lives. That’s an incredible thing to reflect on twenty years later.”
Frontman Ivan Moody added that while the album acknowledges the band’s history, it also looks firmly ahead.
“At the same time, Legacy isn’t about looking backward. 20 years is a milestone, not a destination. We’re incredibly proud of this record because it captures everything people love about Five Finger Death Punch while also pointing toward where we’re headed next.”
He finished: “Our philosophy has always been that this journey doesn’t come with a self-imposed ceiling. Every goal we’ve reached simply revealed another horizon beyond it. We never believed the sky was the limit; if anything, it’s where the true journey begins. Here’s to our shared legacy.”
“De Oppresso Liber” follows lead single “Eye Of The Storm”, which has already made a strong impact at rock radio and streaming platforms ahead of the album’s release earning 5FDP their 18th number one single.
