The wait is over and its finally here! 5FDP x DMX.
Five Finger Death Punch has revealed a brand new song and official music video for their hotly anticipated release of ‘This Is The Way ft. DMX’.
In the run up to the release the band have been showcasing several teaser videos featuring prominent hip-hop/heavy metal crossover artists reacting to the track including the likes of DMC, Xzibit, Sen Dog and Chali 2NA.
According to 5FDP founder and guitar, Zoltan Bathory, “The idea of collaborating with DMX had been in discussion for years, and it was a long and winding road to turn this particular item on our wish list into reality.”
He adds, “He was a lyrical warrior, a true original who spoke his mind incorruptibly. We have always viewed DMX as ‘the metalhead of hip-hop’ because of his aggressive, raw and untamed style. He growled and snarled, aiming to rattle some cages – an attitude we share, as Five Finger Death Punch has always been drawn to the fearless and the real. It made all the sense in the world, but today this is more than just a song; it’s a salute to a legend, a way to honor DMX’s memory.”
‘This Is The Way ft. DMX’ is part of an special deluxe edition of 2022’s ‘AfterLife’ album released on Friday 5 April 2024. Alongside the original 12 songs from the album, and new single, ‘This Is The Way ft. DMX’, the deluxe edition also features acoustic versions of three of the original albums best loved tracks – ‘Thanks For Asking’, ‘The End’ and ‘Judgement Day’.
