Back in May 2021, in a video posted on Social Media, 5FDP founder and guitarist, Zoltan Bathory, not only confirmed that the band would start recording their ninth album in the summer of 2021, he also confirmed the band will re-record The Way of the Fist.
Judging by the latest posts on social media, the band has now entered The Hideout Studio with long time producer Kevin Churko to kick off recording. Photos to date show aocustic guitars, a Taylor baritone out and an insight to Ivan Moody’s writing process.
On the bands decision to rerecord The Way of the Fist, Bathory said, “It was a truly self produced DIY album, mostly recorded in my living room, so we thought it would be really interesting to hear it with a proper big production”.
Five Finger Death Punch’s ninth album, and the re-recorded version of The Way of the Fist album will be the first to feature new guitarist Andy James who officially joined the band in October 2020.
