The band took home the ‘Best Metal Band’ accolade at the seventh edition of the annual music awards.
Five Finger Death Punch were recognised at Sally Steele’s seventh Vegas Rocks! Magazine Music Awards which took place on Sunday 21 January 2024 at Sam’s Town in Las Vegas.
Zoltan Bathory, Andy James and Chris Kael were in attendance to accept the ‘Best Metal Band’ award on behalf of Five Finger Death Punch. Explaining the absence of Ivan Moody and Charlie Engen, in a post on his official Instagram page complete with a photo of Ivan’s own award, Zoltan Bathory jokingly said, “Before you ask, Ivan got snowed in up north… so was Charlie – he was last seen riding a polar bear. This is why I live in places where there are palm trees. No palm trees – no go.”
The event, which also celebrated the 20th Anniverary of Vegas Rocks Magazine, saw a star-studded line-up of Rock and Metal artists in attendance to be honoured with awards. Alongside Five Finger Death Punch this included Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Rick Nielsen (Cheap Trick), Kip Winger (Winger), Eric Bloom and Buck Dharma (Blue Oyster Cult), who received the ‘Lifetime Achievement In Music’ award. Other accolades were scooped by Rikki Rockett (Poison),Tim “Ripper” Owens (Judas Priest, KK’s Priest),Bruce Kulick (KISS),Lizzy Borden, Simon Wright (AC/DC, Dio) ,Blas Elias (Slaughter),Marco Mendoza (Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy),Danny Koker and Count’s’S 77, Frankie Moreno, Robert Sarzo, Crashig Wayward, andJasom Walker and the Majestic 12.
