Five Finger Death Punch has added another milestone to their career as their new version of “The End,” featuring BABYMETAL, has reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. The collaboration marks the band’s 13th consecutive chart-topping single and their 17th Number one overall.
The achievement extends Five Finger Death Punch’s record for the longest streak of consecutive No. 1 singles in the chart’s history, reinforcing their continued dominance on rock radio.
For BABYMETAL, the accomplishment is historic. The group becomes the first Japanese act – and the first Asian artist – to reach Number one on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. Their feature on ‘The End’ marks a rare breakthrough for an international act in the format.
‘The End’ originally appeared on the 5FDP’s 2022 album ‘AfterLife.’ The new version with BABYMETAL, released as part of Five Finger Death Punch’s recent ‘Best Of – Volume 2′ collection, has gained strong radio momentum. According to Luminate, the track increased by 16% in audience impressions during the most recent charting week, rising to 2.5 million listeners.
During a plaque presentation with BABYMETAL in Los Angeles, guitarist Zoltan Bathory reflected on the collaboration and the timing of its success, “This was such an amazing way to celebrate a collaboration that turned into a chart-topping moment for both of us,” Bathory said. “Who knows… maybe we’ll even share a stage with BABYMETAL. Life’s a wild chain of coincidences, and sometimes the next chapter just writes itself.”
