Don’t miss Five Finger Death Punch guitarist, Andy James, on the latest epiosde of Gus G Calls.

5FDP’s Andy James is the latest metaller to guest on Firewind and former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Gus G’s, ‘Gus G Calls’ YouTube series.
Among the topics covered in the hour long interview are how Andy came to join Five Finger Death Punch – from knowing 5FDP Drummer Charlie Engen to meeting Zoltan Bathory through Butcher Babies via Instagram DM’s.
Andy also talks about what it was like learning 17 5FDP songs whilst on the plane to the tour from LAX, adjusting from seven string guitars to six string in B standard, touring with the band right before the COVID-19 pandemic hit and for the latter half of the bands F8 European Tour in 2020. Gus G even drops that he travelled to Bulgaria to see 5FDP on the tour and that he is a huge fan of the band!
On some 5FDP tracks, Andy reveals he has gone back since touring with the band in Europe and reworked some material to find more efficient ways of playing the riffs and solos of some songs ways that are more comfortable to play in his own style. He also believes Death Punch doesn’t get enough credit for their songwriting – especially for their rhythm guitar licks.
Also covered, Andy gives the low down on his brand new range of Kiesel signature guitars which launched in February 2021, guitar techniques such as finger tapping and guitar position, his latest solo record and much, much more.
