Footage shows the Five Finger Death Punch frontman take a tumble on stage.

5FDP’s Ivan Moody suffered a fractured rib while rocking the stage with his bandmates at the Louder Than Life festival on Thursday 26 September 2024. The event took place at the Highland Festival Grounds in Louisville, Kentucky.
The incident occurred during the eleventh song of the set, “IOU,” as the weather turned rainy toward the end of the day. In a video captured during the performance, Moody can be seen losing his footing while navigating the stage but quickly regains his balance and powers through the last song of the set.
Later, Ivan updated 5FDP fans via his Instagram Stories, sharing that he was dealing with a painful bruise extending from his armpit down to his knee. He also mentioned that his hand felt “like it’s shattered.”
After receiving medical attention at a local hospital, Moody received the diagnosis of a “fractured fucking rib.” He expressed his disbelief, saying, “You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me. It’s always something, man. But I will say this much: it was worth it. Louder Than Life. For real real.”
In a post on Five Finger Death Punch’s social media pages the band confirmed that due to Ivan’s injury they will be unable to join Metallica in Mexico on Sunday 29 September 2024. The statement read, “At Louder Than Life this past Thursday, Ivan fell and broke his rib during ‘IOU’ – as the rain poured and despite the fall Ivan was able to finish the set. As a result, we will not be able to play the show with Metallica in Mexico City tomorrow night.
We’d like to thank Metallica for bringing us on this incredible journey for the past two years and also express our sincere apologies to the fans in Mexico City for any inconvenience.
Wishing our brother Ivan L. Moody a speedy recovery”
FFDP UK wishes Ivan a swift and speedy recovery ahead of the bands next show in October 2024 at AfterShock Festival in the USA.
